NC Firefighter Injured in Massive House Blaze

The homeowner's dog alerted neighbors to the large fire that broke out at the house in Raleigh early New Year's Day.

A North Carolina firefighter was injured battling a massive New Year's Day house blaze.

The fire broke out at about 4:30 a.m. Wednesday at a home in Raleigh, WNCN-TV reports. No one was home at the time, but the homeowner's dog, which was outside, alerted neighbors, who called 9-1-1.

Details about the firefighter's injuries were not released. The blaze destroyed the house, and officials are investigating to determine the cause.
